Pop, Fizz, Clink into 2018December 29, 2017
Step-by-Step, Day-by-DayJanuary 12, 2018
It is officially 2018, woo! I hope you all had a happy, and healthy New Year’s Eve as we gear up to do all things great this New Year. If I am being completely honest, December 31st has never been my favorite holiday…so much so that I fell asleep at 8:45pm. Whoops?
I’m feeling positive, refreshed, and hopeful for the new year. I mentioned some of my hopes for 2018 in my last post, as I’m not a fan of the “resolution list” that usually gets lost in translation. I am challenging you to stop and think, where is your journey taking you? I wanted to write a little more about what I hope to get out of my journey, in hopes that it makes you reflect on yours…realizing that we need and have time to always continue to plan and execute that journey of ours, whatever it may be.
I was recently chatting with one of my best friends about life. She works with a lot of elderly patients, and got some life advice over the holidays from one of them. If you ask me, the older generations can teach us many beautiful things. This woman sounds like a peach who is doing just that. She said, “I’ll give you one piece of advice, it doesn’t matter what you’re doing or who you’re doing it with, just as long as you are happy.” HAPPY. Our happiness is often compromised as we get sucked into our day-to-day routine. Love what you do. Love where you live. Find the places, activities, and people that bring you joy. What gets sweeter and better than that? Let me tell you, nothing.
Let’s talk journey. We are all on one. God created each of us, beautifully unique in our own ways to set off and do. As I grow older, I get more and more fascinated to hear about other’s journeys. Even though I am growing closer to my thirties (which I totally believe are going to be my best years) I feel as though my journey is just beginning. I believe everything happens for a reason, I always have. What I cannot and will not always understand is why they necessarily happen. What I am realizing is that right there is a part of my journey. When I lost my Mom, I felt compelled to write again. I wanted to include my loved ones in our Hawaiian adventures, and more importantly hash through life’s lessons with all of you. I am trying to figure out the bigger picture, if there is one. I have a few ideas in my mind, but I am allowing time and my prayers to take over.
I guess what I’m getting at is that I feel as though this journey of mine is just the start. I smile as I write this, because I fully stand behind the vision I came up with last year. I have learned so much about myself, and have received an overwhelming amount of positivity from all of you. Using my platform #getbizzylivin and #thisjoyfuljourneyofmine to share my story has already given so much back to me.
So remember, as it is a new year, your journey may just be beginning. It doesn’t matter your age, your location, your scenario…because it is all unique to YOU. Sometimes you just have to pause, where is your journey taking you? It may be a physical place, or something to do with your faith or well-being. Be patient, because it takes time to understand most things. Above all, believe in yourself, and have faith in it all. If your journey is anything like mine, lean on others and the beauty that surrounds to get you through. With that, you can and will prevail.
Happy journeying! <3
